Live Streaming HIGH HOLIDAY SERVICES 5781/2020

L’SHANA TOVA! May you and your family be blessed with a New Year filled with joy, insight, health, prosperity, and love. We look forward to your participation in our High Holy Day services, and to welcoming 5781 together through the joyous and meaningful services led by Rabbi Michael Barclay, Cantor Sam Glaser, Mat Gurman, and special guests.

Why Stream? There are many Jews who feel a deep desire to attend the High Holiday services of Rosh HaShana, and yet are uncomfortable leaving their home due to age or potential health risks.  Temple Ner Simcha is always committed to being inclusive and acting with integrity, and we feel it is our responsibility to make services for the upcoming High Holidays available to these Jews who are recalcitrant to attend our live services for whatever reason.

We are offering  the option for people to participate in services this year through online streaming.  At the same time that we want to provide this option, there are many additional financial costs to this process, and we also want to make sure that everyone who streams the service will be able to participate in prayer rather than simply “observe”…so we are sending each family a High Holiday Mahzor for you to keep.  We also want to encourage everyone who is physically able to attend the services in person, and do not want to substitute in-person worship habits for exclusively online.  Jewish practices are not “observant", they are participatory and inclusive, and we are doing everything possible to have an impactful streaming alternative in addition to live attendance.

There is a limited amount of people that we can provide live streaming for, and there is also the extra added time and costs required to mail out prayer books.  If you are choosing to participate via this streaming option, please register immediately.  There is a nominal charge for each family to stream services to cover all the additional labor and hard costs, and we must have your streaming registration before September 1, 2020 at the latest.  If/when we reach our streaming capacity, the registration page will be closed and you will only be able to register for the in-person services.
