Temple Ner Simcha in Westlake Village is proud to present, ?The Simcha Series: A Celebration of Jewish Arts?. This monthly series, produced by David Zasloff, features some of the greatest Jewish artists of the 21st Century, and will take place on the first Sunday of every month in 2019 (except October). There is no cover charge: all shows are free, open to the general public, and family friendly. 

For the month of January the Temple Ner Simcha music team performs contemporary original music and comedy.

Mat Gurman (www.matgurman.com – Considered one of the top studio guitarists in the business, Guitar Player magazine said, “…he’s a terrific player…crafty composer…effortless groove…lush and lustrous tone.” A frequent guest of the Tonight Show Band, Mat has worked with everyone from K.D. Lang to Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach; The Back Street Boys to Tanya Tucker, Theodore Bikel, the Beach Boys and David Cassidy among others. A frequent contributor on network and cable television series and feature films for over 30 years, Mat also worked on the Broadway productions of both Wicked and Grease, as well as on MTV, VH1, and HBO.

Benny Lipson (www.jackbennynow.com) – is recognized around the West Coast for his cantorial and song leading skills, as well as his musicianship as a guitarist, bassist, and pianist. Traveling with his twin brother Jack in their group “Jack Benny,” he has performed a two-act show of original music all around the nation, and performed their original show once a month throughout 2018 at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre in Silver Lake. Benny strives to spread happiness and a love of unconditional diversity over the globe through his music.

David Zosloff (www.davidzasloff.com) – is a stand-up comedian/multi-instrumentalist – vocalist and has performed in a wide variety of venues throughout the United States including NA, AA, CA, DA, OA, CEA-HOW and GA comedy festivals and conventions, prisons, nightclubs, universities, theaters, retirement homes, corporate events, private parties, temples, weddings, funerals, birthday parties, affairs of state, spiritual living centers, a few churches and one bris.

Considered by many to be the greatest living shofar player, David also plays trumpet, piano, percussion, guitar, autoharp; and is a master of the Japanese shakuhachi flute, which he played on the multi million selling Linkin Park CD, “Meteora.” The Musical Director for 14 HBO shows, he is recognized for his ability to produce as well as perform.
