Adult Education
Adult B'nai Mitzvah
Education is one of the bulwarks of our faith, and is one of the foundation stones of Temple Ner Simcha. We have regular adult education classes with dynamic topics that apply the Wisdom of our Sages to the 21st century. Led by Rabbi Barclay, author, lecturer, and former faculty in the Department of Theology at Loyola Marymount University, the classes give the opportunity to learn our traditions and practices in a relaxed and intimate forum. All classes are free…so bring a friend and come learn together!
Temple Ner Simcha sponsors guest lecturers from around the world on exciting topics. Past lecturers include “Jewish Meditation” taught by world renowned kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Greenbaum; a panel of diverse Rabbis on “The Jewish Responses to Gay Marriage”; and Professor Zev Garber on “The Jewish Jesus: Myths and Facts of a Rabbi”.
Temple Ner Simcha will be offering a 15 week series of classes entitled “Judaism 101”. These classes are tailored for the person considering conversion into Judaism, and will offer the opportunity at the end of the series for full and accepted conversion. But they are just as interesting to any Jew wishing to learn more about our faith; ranging from the basics to the esoteric. For more information on this series please contact Rabbi Barclay directly at RabbiBarclay@aol.com
