Temple Ner Simcha : A Place to Renew Yourself, and Your Connection to Judaism

Welcome to Temple Ner Simcha!

Temple Ner Simcha is an inclusive and welcoming synagogue that provides services, education, and a complete opportunity for Jews of all backgrounds and worship traditions to have a true home. We are committed to make every experience integrate joy and depth, and strive to constantly make our ancient traditions meaningful through practices that are between classic Reform and Conservative Judaism in observance, with spatterings of Kabbala and Hasidic thought interwoven throughout. We offer a complete religious education program to prepare children for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs (with no additional Bar/Bat Mitzvah fees); and with regular classes led by Rabbi Barclay, guest lecturers from around the world, and dynamic programming, our adult education programs are second to none.

Talmud & Tobbaco

Come join Rabbi Barclay and the TNS community this Wednesday, Nov. 34th @ 7:30pm at The Stonehaus for a special evening of study in our monthly Talmud & Tobacco session.  The topic this week will be War & Peace; Conflict & Resolution: A Jewish Path During Challenging Times

We are all aware of the conflicts going on in our nation and the world, but how does Judaism teach us to resolve conflict?  Is there really such a thing as “enemies”, and how are we to treat them?  When is “war” ok, and what are the guidelines?  How do we transition from conflict to peace?

These and other issues will be dealt with in a class that is to help start the healing process for the conflicts that will undoubtedly arise post-election.  Passions on both sides of the political aisle are high, but our Sages give us pathways and guidelines to not only survive conflict, but to bring peace into the world.

As always, there is no cost for this event, and premium cigars will be provided courtesy of the TNS Men’s Club.  Bring your passion and your friends, and join the community for another scintillating evening of Talmud & Tobacco hosted. Premium cigars are provided, there will be a non-smoking section for those who prefer not to partake, and this evening is for adults only. This session will not be broadcast on Facebook or YouTube Livestreaming.

Erev Shabbat Service @ TNS Sanctuary
Dec 4 @ 7:30 pm

Come join the TNS community as we gather together in our sanctuary to celebrate Shabbat this Friday at 7:30pm. With the wisdom of our Rabbi, the joyous music of Cantorial Soloist Benny Lipson, the amazing music of Mat Gurman, and the beauty of our tradition, these services always bring renewal and rest from the challenges of the week as we welcome the Sabbath Queen into our lives.
Participate on our Website, Facebook Live or YouTube Live, and the sanctuary will also be open for those who feel they need to attend in person or do not have the technical ability to participate online. As stated in previous emails, we will be observing the federal guidelines as well as the guidelines suggested by The Partnership Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives of the US Dept. of Human Health at our services. There will be no Oneg Shabbat (some time off for the amazing Sisters of Simcha!); hugs and kisses are to be replaced by waves and smiles; and we are asking that each family unit who physically attends take advantage of our beautiful and large sanctuary and place yourselves at least six feet away from each other. People who are at “high risk” because of age, health conditions, etc. are asked to stay home and experience the service at
