Temple Ner Simcha : A Place to Renew Yourself, and Your Connection to Judaism

Welcome to Temple Ner Simcha!

Temple Ner Simcha is an inclusive and welcoming synagogue that provides services, education, and a complete opportunity for Jews of all backgrounds and worship traditions to have a true home. We are committed to make every experience integrate joy and depth, and strive to constantly make our ancient traditions meaningful through practices that are between classic Reform and Conservative Judaism in observance, with spatterings of Kabbala and Hasidic thought interwoven throughout. We offer a complete religious education program to prepare children for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs (with no additional Bar/Bat Mitzvah fees); and with regular classes led by Rabbi Barclay, guest lecturers from around the world, and dynamic programming, our adult education programs are second to none.

Erev Shabbat Service @ TNS Sanctuary
Mar 5 @ 7:30 pm

Come join the TNS community as we gather together in our sanctuary to celebrate Shabbat this Friday at 7:30pm. With the wisdom of our Rabbi, the joyous music of Cantorial Soloist Benny Lipson, the amazing music of Mat Gurman, and the beauty of our tradition, these services always bring renewal and rest from the challenges of the week as we welcome the Sabbath Queen into our lives.
Participate on our Website, Facebook Live or YouTube Live, and the sanctuary will also be open for those who feel they need to attend in person or do not have the technical ability to participate online. As stated in previous emails, we will be observing the federal guidelines as well as the guidelines suggested by The Partnership Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives of the US Dept. of Human Health at our services. There will be no Oneg Shabbat (some time off for the amazing Sisters of Simcha!); hugs and kisses are to be replaced by waves and smiles; and we are asking that each family unit who physically attends take advantage of our beautiful and large sanctuary and place yourselves at least six feet away from each other. People who are at “high risk” because of age, health conditions, etc. are asked to stay home and experience the service at

Jewish Mysticism & Meditation – Facebook & YouTube Livestreaming
Mar 8 @ 7:30 pm
Introduction to Jewish
Mysticism & Meditation
In this series of classes, you will gain a true understanding and experience of basic Jewish practices of meditation; ancient Jewish understandings regarding the creation and maintenance of the Universe; Kabbalistic theology and where it is hidden in our liturgy and practices; and how Judaism is a tradition that successfully integrates ethic practices and mystical beliefs. In addition, there will be time spent on how to use these teachings to enhance your personal experience of life, achieve more satisfaction, fullness, and joy in every moment; and achieve more excellence in every aspect of your life.
This is one of Rabbi Barclay’s favorite topics to teach, and was an integral part of his dissertation and the foundation for his book “Sacred Relationships” (Liturgical Press, 2013).  He has brought these teachings to executives and athletes (including NCAA and professional athletes and teams, as well as Emmy & Academy Award winners), and has taught Jewish mysticism and meditation around the world for over two decades in both large and small settings.
No prior knowledge is necessary, and as always, there is no financial charge associated with this class.
