Introduction to Jewish Mysticism & Meditation @ Rabbi Barclay's Home
May 28 @ 7:30 pm
In honor of the counting of the Omer time between Passover and Shavuot, and by popular request, Rabbi Barclay will be teaching a 6 week series of classes:

Introduction to Jewish
Mysticism & Meditation
April 30 – June 4

In this series of classes, you will gain a true understanding and experience of basic Jewish practices of meditation; ancient Jewish understandings regarding the creation and maintenance of the Universe; Kabbalistic theology and where it is hidden in our liturgy and practices; and how Judaism is a tradition that successfully integrates ethic practices and mystical beliefs. In addition, there will be time spent on how to use these teachings to enhance your personal experience of life, achieve more satisfaction, fullness, and joy in every moment; and achieve more excellence in every aspect of your life.

This is one of Rabbi Barclay’s favorite topics to teach, and was an integral part of his dissertation and the foundation for his book “Sacred Relationships” (Liturgical Press, 2013).  He has brought these teachings to executives and athletes (including NCAA and professional athletes and teams, as well as Emmy & Academy Award winners), and has taught Jewish mysticism and meditation around the world for over two decades in both large and small settings.

Classes will be held on Tuesday nights at 7:30pm beginning on April 30 and continuing through June 4 at the Barclay home:  1941 Tamarack St. in Westlake Village.

No prior knowledge is necessary, and as always, there is no financial charge associated with this class.

Shavuot Service & Study @ Rabbi's House
Jun 8 @ 8:30 pm

Guaranteed to be a life changing evening and one of the most powerful evenings in our Jewish lives, Shavuot is a holiday of studying and celebrating the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai.  Come celebrate with Rabbi Barclay this transcendent event as we utilize Rabbi Barclay’s translation of the ancient text “Tikkun Leil Shavuot” as a guide into the deep awareness of the magnificence of both the Written and Oral Torah.  Traditionally, this evening of study and discussion goes all the way until the dawn; and we will once again immerse ourselves in this tradition (or at least anyone who can make it all the way through the night!).  Bring a dairy dessert to share as it is the tradition to enjoy dairy and desserts throughout the night (and for those who like caffeine we get to enjoy Rabbi Barclay’s famous Cuban Coffee…which makes a cup of espresso seem light!).

Community Succah Build and Brunch! @ Rabbi's House
Oct 11 @ 11:30 am

WWL

Come have brunch, and build the structure of the community Succah at Rabbi Barclay’s home.  We will be bringing out the wood and building the basic framework (the entire succah with fronds cannot be built until after Yom Kippur), and sharing light food, coffee, and laughs…

If you have your own electric drill, please bring it to make things go quicker; but most importantly, please come celebrate the preparation for this happiest of holidays as we start building the Succah!

Oct 16 @ 7:30 pm

Talmud & Tobacco:

The Hidden Secrets of Sukkot:  Manifesting Your Dreams of Love, Success and Even Children Through Observance of the “Holiday of Our Happiness”

Learn how to manifest the deepest dreams of your soul into physical reality through a more full understanding of this powerful holiday…the only holiday in which we are commanded by God to be happy!  We will study ancient texts together and learn how our Sages used Sukkot to create daily miracles in their lives.

This class is only open to those over the age of 21.  As always, cigars will be provided by the TNS Men’s Club, but for this one event, we ask people to consider bringing fine spirits to share as we enjoy the studying under the shade of the Succah.  As always, this class is open to everyone:  make and female, smoker and non smoker (there is a non-smoking section in the Succah).
