Temple Ner Simcha in Westlake Village is proud to present, “The Simcha Series: A Celebration of Jewish Arts”. This monthly series, produced by David Zasloff, features some of the greatest Jewish artists of the 21st Century, and will take place on the first Sunday of every month in 2019 (except October). There is no cover charge: all shows are free, open to the general public, and family friendly.
For the month of May the very talented Yuval Ron will be performing in our sanctuary.
Yuval Ron is a world renowned musician, producer, ethnomusicologist, and peace activist. He composed the songs and score for the Oscar winning film West Bank Story in 2007, was the featured artist in the Gala Concert for the Dalai Lama’s initiative Seeds of Compassion in the Seattle Opera Hall in 2008, and has collaborated with the Sufi leader Pir Zia Inayat Khan since 2006. His awards include the Los Angeles Treasures Award in 2004 and prestigious grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, American Composers Forum, California Council for the Humanities and the Rockefeller Foundation. He teaches the deepest of Jewish wisdom through his music, and Yuval’s book, “Divine Attunement: Music as a Path to Wisdom” is the recipient of the Gold Medal Award for Best Spirituality Book at the 2015 Indie Book Awards.
